Heather and George’s Life Together

Heather and George started their journey over 60 years ago when they met at work. Their beautiful story is about love, understanding and finding peace and happiness.

Heather and George met when they were both in their early 20s. They worked together and got the 60 bus into work together, where Heather used to get on at Sefton Park and George got on at Old Swan.

Heather said, “I didn’t like George at the start as he wore a brown suit and silk top. Which I couldn’t take home to my mother!”

However, with George’s handsome looks and fantastic charm, he won Heather over. Heather said, “each year there was an annual dance, and on the way back we both got on the bus together. He leaned in and kissed me, and then that was it”.

A couple of years ago, Heather and George moved to Birkdale Tower Lodge where they have made this place their home. They have two rooms, one is their bedroom, and the other is their living room. Both rooms have been decorated with their belongings from home to make the rooms feel more homely.

They have had an amazing life together, and are now living together here at Birkdale Tower Lodge, where they are comfortable and happy. It has given them a new sense of freedom.

Heather and George’s love story is a reminder of the power of love and the importance of human connection.

When asked, what advice would you give to the younger generation?” Heather replied, “just have fun, go bopping and dancing, just like me and George once did”.
