Dave’s Art Legacy

Dave has left a lasting impression on the art community with his detailed and thought-provoking pieces.

In his early years, Dave first ventured into the art world as a magazine illustrator for ladies’ fashion. Since digital printing wasn’t available back then, hand-drawn illustrations were popular in magazines. Dave thoroughly enjoyed his job as he was able to travel to places like New York for New York Fashion Week. Throughout his life Dave has completed some beautiful art pieces:

When Dave first came into Birkdale Tower Lodge he wasn’t mobile, struggling to walk or move independently. However, with fantastic determination and resilience, he worked with the care team at the Lodge. He completed his walking exercises up and down the corridor every day. Now Dave is much more independent and can walk on his own to the town centre where he enjoys a cup of coffee or browses in the shops. He’s even drawn himself a map with directions!

Dave has made many friends and now calls Birkdale Tower Lodge his home. When Dave was asked what he thinks of Birkdale Tower Lodge, he said, “I love it here, when I first walked in I thought it was a hotel!”.

Let us celebrate Dave and the countless other artists who continue to inspire us. Dave is a reminder that creativity has no age limit.
